Solved

Should Dr/Nurse and CSI/CSU/ME, Detective/Sergeant/Lieutenant/Captain/Commissioner, ADA/DDA/DA as well as FBI SSA/SA/ASAC/SAC be added?

So this is a sequel to my discussion https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/search?q=Adding%20Detective%2FSergeant%2FCaptain%2FLieutenant%2FADA%2FDA%20etc%20to%20Police%20procedural%20characters I understand not adding full titles like "New York City Police Department Special Victims Unit Captain Olivia Benson" as thats just silly. But adding Captain Olivia Benson seems ok as She introduces herself Captain Benson sometimes. Im trying to do the same to other credits for Example ER has the character names but not whether or not they are Dr or nurses, but Greys Anatomy and House do. For shows centred on the FBI instead of adding Supervisory Special Agent John Doe, just shorten it to SSA John Doe and list what the Acronym stands for in the trivia section. It just an idea but it would add some consistency.

Dan: Someone else raised a similar question a few months ago in this discussion: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/adding-tittles-like-dr-or-detectivesergeantlieutenantcaptainofficer/67c746905c56b60dd82339e3 I understand that you are dealing with shows where the character names are not printed on screen in the credits, so there is *some* flexibility allowed as to the character names. But the IMDb policy supports using simpler names rather than adding titles. As stated at https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/filmography-credits/characters/GKLQVXKH7U8DATWX# : "Keep it simple ... Avoid extra embellishments/repetitions/nicknames unless they are part of the credited character name: it's enough to list Robert Patrick as John Doggett in the "X-Files" TV series, instead of "Special Agent Jonathan Jay 'John' Doggett"; Jeri Ryan played Seven of Nine on "Star Trek: Voyager", not "Seven of Nine, Tertiary Adjunct of Unimatrix 01, aka Annika Hansen"; Edward Norton played Will Graham in Red Dragon, not "William Graham" or "Special Agent Graham" or "FBI Special Agent William 'Will' Graham"; Matt LeBlanc plays Joey Tribbiani in "Friends", not "Joseph 'Joey' Francis Tribbiani". You get the idea." Yes, some more elaborated names have gotten through and been accepted in the past. (See the cast list for "Benson" at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0078569/fullcredits/ where most of the regular cast has elaborated character names.) But that's not preferred. My inclination would be to leave the character name "Olivia Benson" as is and not add "Captain" or any other title.

Doctor and nurse would not be sufficient for ER since some characters are medical students. One character is a nurse and medical student overlappingly and then a doctor. It's certainly simpler to stick with the name.
