Solved

Should the M.U.G.E.N. page really exist?

To put things in context, M.U.G.E.N. isn't really a fighting game, as the page suggests, but rather an engine for creating fighting games.

You can download M.U.G.E.N. and then download community-created characters, but the engine itself isn't a complete game (it does come with one character and one stage, but nothing that reflects the 99+ credits listed on the page).

There are games built using M.U.G.E.N., such as "Hyper Dragon Ball Z" or "Mortal Kombat Project", and I think those should count as valid entries, but the engine as a whole?

Even if it were accepted, I believe the credits should be limited to what is included in the basic engine download, rather than the thousands of characters available online that may or may not be added to a specific project.

Hi DuraNext-

If you have found an incorrect title listed, you can submit a request for title deletion through our online Update form.

For more detailed information on how to delete title pages on IMDb and our policy guidelines eligibility, I encourage to review the following Help Guide.

Important things to know is that if this specific title does not have a "Title deletion" option on the 'Edit page,' the request will have to be submitted through this specific Contact form instead, for our editors to review further.

Important As our aim is to be the most complete and reliable source of movie, TV, and entertainment information on the web and in order to continue offering our users an accurate and trustworthy service, it is our policy not to alter or delete any kind of correct/factual information from our records. If, in this case, the title is deemed eligible, it will not be removed.

Cheers!

I tried sending an email (since there is no delete button). As I expected, whenever you have to request a page's removal via email, the response is always unsatisfactory (it seems like they didn't even read what I sent, which was the same message I posted here, and just gave a generic reply). I received the following:

"This is Astbury from IMDb support. I hope you're having a wonderful day!

Our aim is to be the most complete and reliable source of movie, TV, and entertainment information on the web. In order to continue offering our users an accurate and trustworthy service, it is our policy not to alter or delete any kind of correct/factual information from our records.

It's important to know that corrections to data on IMDb are submitted by everyday users just like yourself.

Please be aware that we're unable to submit requests on a user's behalf if the request is possible using the contribution interface, apologies for any inconvenience.

However, we always welcome corrections to the database! If you're aware of inaccurate information, please let us know through the “Edit page” button which is listed at the bottom of every page on IMDb."

Honestly, I reported something that seems very wrong, but if IMDb doesn't care about having a page where anyone can just spam credits for anyone, then I won't care either.

Anyway, I’ve done my part; the future of that page is up to IMDb now.

@DuraNext - Thank you for sending the request as per the guidelines and for providing this information! This has been reported to the respective team.

As per the title, after further reviewing, it has been removed from the site. The changes will be live on the site shortly.
