Show only movies for music artists

I've always wondered about this, but why not give an option to show only movies, and not also their appearances in music videos?

Take for example Jennifer Lopez, I somehow first get to see all of her produced movies (which is another problem), but I'm actually interested in the movies she starred in. But when I then click on ''Actress'' I also get to see all of her music videos, can this be changed please?

Navin: There is a way to filter a person's credits so that movies are shown separately from music videos.

At the start of a person's Credits section, you will see a series of ovals each listing one of the person's IMDb jobs and the number of credits in each. So, for Jennifer Lopez, that would include Producer - 34, Actress - 146, Soundtrack - 96, etc.

Before the first job oval there will be a blue oval with three white lines in it, a longer line, a medium line, and a short line. Click on that oval. A box will pop up which will have at the top the words "SORT BY" and the options "Year" and "Project type". Click on "Project type".

You will then see, within each job category (Producer, Actress, etc.) that the person's credits are sorted by project type. So, for example, Jennifer Lopez currently has under Actress the following credits:

Music - 85

Movie - 46

TV - 11

Video - 4

And they are all sorted from each other, so that you can look at just her Movie credits as an actress without seeing her music videos interspersed with them.

I hope this helps.

Can you perhaps post a screenshot? (via https://postimages.org)

I'm not sure if I'm getting to see these options. But I think this should be changed on IMDB, so movies should always be separated from music videos by default, I wonder what the IMDB staff members think of this?

Did you see my post? I see that it's marked as private, who is doing this, I mean what's the point? Is this some bug in the forum software?

And perhaps IMDB staff can respond to my idea, to simply separate all movies/series from music videos by default, it shouldn't be hard to do, I suppose?

Navin: I saw your original post, "I've always wondered about this, but why not give an option to show only movies ...."

And I saw your response today, "Did you see my post? I see that it's marked as private ...."

If you had another post in between that got marked as private, then I didn't see it, since only the poster and IMDb staff can see posts marked as private. I don't know why your post might have been marked as private, but that has happened to me on occasion and usually with no logical reason for it.

Can you now see the post that I made? All of a sudden it's not marked as private anymore. I asked if you could perhaps post a screenshot, because I'm not sure if I get to see all of those options.

Navin:

This is all I can capture right now in terms of a screenshot -- the start of this thread, because I'm having trouble downloading a capture of the entire page.

There is more I can view below that, but I can't capture it all in one screenshot, at least not right now.

Sorry, you misunderstood. I meant a screenshot of all the things that you described in order for me the see only the movie/series that an actor/actress has played in, without seeing the music videos and other stuff.

Before the first job oval there will be a blue oval with three white lines in it, a longer line, a medium line, and a short line. Click on that oval.

A box will pop up which will have at the top the words "SORT BY" and the options "Year" and "Project type". Click on "Project type".

Click on the down-arrow at the right of the category you are interested in:

And then you will see just the credits for that job and project type:
