Spoilers for other films

I honestly don't know if this is a Problem or an Idea, but here goes. So, I'm reading the trivia for "I Know What You Did Last Summer (1997)," after I'd rewatched it, and come across someone who thought it was good spoiler trivia to reveal the killer or killers in ALL the films, BY NAME. I submitted a Deletion request because even though I hadn't seen the 2025 version, the revelation of the killer or killers felt like a MAJOR spoiler for that film. Now that I have seen it, I can say that it 100% was a spoiler for the 2025 film but written under "Spoilers" on the 1997 film. I am not a person who reads reviews or anything on IMDb about a film I haven't seen before I watch it, so this major spoiler for a different film was completely unexpected and unwelcome. There should be added to the addition of Trivia or other such sections, that a contributor should NEVER reveal spoilers for other films under the film they're submitting. It seems like common sense, but maybe contributors need reminders every once in a while.

Hi Brevets- If you find User Reviews or Trivias that happen to be spoilers, you can submit/report the respective data to include the spoiler warning. Now, if these are listed under the incorrect title(s), you can report them and submit a request with an explanation for our staff to further review. Cheers!

@Maya... I think you missed what the OP is saying. The film review is for film X; contains Spoilers for film X; and is marked as containing Spoilers for film X. However, the review ALSO contains Spoilers for films Y, Z, and Q. A person who has already seen film X would view a review for film X with spoilers, but then would find unanticipated spoilers for OTHER FILMS which they may not have seen. I suggest that reviews with Spoilers for films other than the film under consideration should be rejected, until edited accordingly. A feature to report a review for "Spoilers for Other Films" would be something to implement going forward.

Thanks Maya, the SPOILER tag was used for this item, and I did report it to be deleted, but my suggestion is that, within the rules of posting Trivia or Goofs or whatever, that the user be told that no spoilers for any other films should be in items for a film. I can request deletions and/or edit items all day, but once you've read it, you can't NOT remember it. And granted, this is not in the realm of an existential crisis or a history changing event, but while watching the 2025 version of "I Know What You Did...," all I kept watching for was the revelation I already knew, which made watching the film kind of annoying.

Agree that spoilers of other movies seem unnecessary, at least in this case. If your delete request is not approved, you could try correcting the item as corrections can be easier to get approved. The item in question could arguably be rewritten so as to not include the names of any killers.
