Submitting the "tv-special" keyword for TV specials

Recently I have had a problem when submitting TV specials as new titles to IMDb. This occurred with submission #241212-064533-223000 and again with #241220-060919-632000.

In each case, I made the selection for "TV special" near the start of the submission:

... and also submitted the keyword tv-special in the keyword section. However, even though substantially all of the data was accepted for both new titles, I got the following "declned" notice for the keyword:

Keyword Addition

tv-special | other
Reason Duplicate

Your contribution has been declined.

The item you have submitted is exactly the same as a submission that you or another user have already entered, which is still pending review by our staff.

Please remember that all updates submitted to IMDb are not immediately available online but must first be checked and processed by our data editors. The time it takes us to do this can vary, please see this guide for more information. If you have already submitted this item previously, please use the Track Contribution option on that submission reference instead.

And the result of this was that each title was entered into IMDb as a TV Movie instead of a TV Special. (That is, it's not that the keyword was rejected as being duplicative of the Sub-type "TV special"; rather, the entire title was treated as being a TV Movie and not getting classified as a TV Special at all.)

For the first title, I then submitted tv-special as a keyword in a separate submission, which was accepted. I haven't done that for the second title yet.

But, in any event, it seems that there is a bug which is preventing the keyword tv-special from being accepted for a new title.

Hi gromit82-

Thank you for reporting this issue! I have replicated this from my side, however, I'm not getting this problem. Have you tried it with the second title you mentioned? or have you tried adding another TV Special to the site?

Cheers!

@Maya I've just submitted the keyword tv-special to the second title (submission #241222-200023-863000). I don't have any other TV specials to submit, so I can't test the situation again right now.

However, I want to make sure that the problem is clear. If a new title is a TV special, and I know it's a TV special when I submit it as a new title, I want to make sure it gets accepted into IMDb as a TV special from the very start.

I'd prefer not to have it accepted as a TV movie so that I later have to submit the keyword tv-special to change it to a TV special. But that's been the situation for both the TV specials I submitted in the last two weeks.

@gromit82 I see that it has been approved already.

No worries, thank you for the rest of the information just wanted to gather more!

I've forwarded this information to the appropriate team for further investigation (Ref Ticket #V1621529819). I'll reply once we receive further information.

Cheers!
