This is the umpteenth time I've posted this problem. Every time I do so, I get an "answer" from the rocket-scientists at IMDB or Amazon. Thus far, their super-helpful suggestions only amount to me going down yet more rabbit holes which only create more problems and never really addresses the issues I'm having. I'm wondering if there are any other poor souls like me out there who are experiencing similar issues. If so, perhaps you could enlighten me as to what I am doing "wrong". First and foremost, I own my own video production company. After shooting a docu-series for three years and posting for nearly two, I finally finished it in the summer of 2024. I'll bullet-point what happened next, as it is a lot to digest. • In JULY of 2024 (9 months ago), I uploaded the five-part series to Amazon Video Direct in order to sell it. After quite a few weeks, I received an email informing me that two of the episodes had incorrect sub-title formatting and I needed to correct them. • I corrected the sub-title issues and attempted to re-upload them. • I received an email from Amazon stating that the two episodes I was attempting to upload had already been uploaded, and that I would now need to prove ownership of them and the other episodes via IMDB. • I tried to open an IMDB page but was told I couldn't list the series as it had not been published anywhere yet. Amazon will not publish it until I prove ownership of it through IMDB. • I posted a similar post last week on IMDB and they sent me a response that I now needed to open a business page in order to list my series on IMDB. But in order to do so, I had to prove ownership of the series by providing info on employees (I have none, it's just me), list of clients (I am my own client), or filmography credit. My only filmography credit is as a director of a film from 1991, which is not relevant to this issue. At all. So my problem is that I keep getting shuttled back and forth between IMDB and Amazon Hell. One will say I need to do something at the other site, and when I go there they will say I need something from the other site. I tried to delete all five episodes and re-upload them from scratch at Amazon, but they won't let me do that. I suppose because it would be too easy and make too much sense. I've tried to hire people on various sites to help me navigate this never-ending circular cluster-f#@k, but even they have thrown up their hands in exasperation and given up. The "customer service", such as it is, is a joke at best. They will just respond with a non-sensical suggestion that throws me down yet another rabbit-hole that requires more documentation that doesn't exist in order to move forward. To say that this has been the most maddening experience I've ever experienced online in my life would be the understatement of the decade. IMDB and Amazon make the DMV and the IRS look like child's play compared to them. I really want to give up and move on with my life, but I am keenly aware that that is exactly what they want me to do so I haven't... Yet. Has anyone else had the misfortune to experience what I have been experiencing with the passing back and forth between Amazon Video Direct and IMDB? And if so, how did you circumvent the problem? Any assistance or insight from anyonewould be supremely appreciated. I spent hours navigating the gauntlet of anal-probe-like data required to submit a reality series title to my IMDB page. That was well over a week ago. Thus far, all I have received is *Crickets*. No mention that they have received my submission, that they are reviewing it, and I can't find anything relating to the entire miserable experience ever happening at all. Has anyone else experienced anything similar? How long does it typically take for the review process? I've had nothing but problems with this site from the get-go. The only place worse is Amazon Video Direct, but they're both owned by Amazon and they feed off of each other. Believe me when I say that if it wasn't the only way to get something on Amazon Prime, I'd be gone in a heartbeat. Their "customer service" and "help" are an abysmal joke and epic failure.
