Tidying Up the Database
A couple of suggestions to help out contributors:
- There are many orphaned profiles. These are usually created due to a credit being renamed to another profile leaving the original one empty. Could I suggest that if a profile has no credits or bio whatsoever for more than a year, the profile is purged. When adding a person to a production, many of these empty profiles pop up. When it's someone with a very common name, this can cause the genuine profile to not appear in the rather short list of possible profiles.
- There are many series that haven't officially ended, but aren't coming back.... ever. If a series hasn't had an episode added in more than 5 years, mark it as ended. In the rare event a series returns after a long gap, adding an episode will reinstate its status.
- Similarly to #2, If a production has been marked as being "In Production" for more than, say, 5 years, it's probably no longer in production. Perhaps automatically mark these as "completed, but not released" (or similar).
