Solved

Trying to get an uncredited but very involved cast member added...

Quiz Show "Winner Takes All".

It has the unusual element in that all the questions aren't read out by the host, but by a voice over man, Geoffrey Wheeler.

A clear reference to this can be seen here: https://youtu.be/aQcmtBcjkcs?si=b7Gb2EEMDCDgF_Ca&t=215

This was in the days where they didn't really do "double credits" on UK TV, so the fact that Geoffrey Wheeler is credited as "(series) devised by" means he doesn't get credited as cast. But he's not only very obviously cast, he's an integral part of the show.

But crediting him as "Self - Question Announcer" (which seems pretty accurate) and with the attributes "(voice) (uncredited)" just gets declined.

As one such example, then #250118-133953-419000

Hi MovieCat-

Thank you for posting the submission reference! Further reviewing, it was decline as we don't allow uncredited voice credits on the site as per our guidelines. In these cases, they must have an on-screen credit.

Cheers!

@Maya I'd forgotten about that rule.

It's weird in this case because he's a massive part of the show. He's basically an unseen co-host.

@MovieCat Thinking about it, it's perhaps going to be more accurate if I add them without the uncredited tag. (I could even add to crazy credits something to that effect).

They are name-checked on screen, after all.

@Maya One other thing with that title... it seems it was originally created as 1978 in error, and put as ending in 1997 (due to a revival series which has its own title).

(1978-1997)

The actual dates, verified against archive newspapers and the episodes added, should be 1975-1988.

I've tried amending on the title but it won't let me.

@Maya Oh, one got through - should I update it to remove the "uncredited"? I guess it was accepted by accident:

@MovieCat Hi-

Thank you for reproting that! Further checking, the correct years have now been updated and the changes will be live on the site shortly.

Yes, please. You can go ahead and send the update to remove it.

@Maya Great, sorted.

This is all highly important, of course. I bet 80% of site members look up 1977 episodes of UK quiz shows on a daily basis.
