Trying to remove a credit that is not me, and that I did not submit

There are a few of us Phil Mahoneys on IMDB. Someone submitted an acting credit with my name for a short film called Mid Stream Cereal. There is a Phil Mahoney in this film, but it's not me. I had nothing to do with this film. I want it removed. I've been trying to remove it for years, but I get declined every time and told to submit "proof". How can I submit all kinds of other things and not be required to submit proof? And how can I prove a negative? I'm not in this film. I want my credit removed, or assigned to another Phil Mahoney.

Hi, I'm just another user. I believe your issue will be resolved soon by moderation (if you include the code of the rejected change, it should speed up the process). However, in the future, I think you'll have an easier time changing the credits if, instead of trying to delete them, you move to a new page with the same name (claiming you don't know who it is), and then in your explanation, you can state that the current page is yours and that you're not involved in that film. Generally, credit changes are accepted more easily than deletions.
