Solved

Two different film festivals are being confused

Gold Coast Film Festival - https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0030000/2023/1

Gold Coast International Film Festival - https://www.imdb.com/event/ev0003973/2023/1

These are two different festivals (on two different continents). Many of the awards and films from GCFF are listed under GCIFF and despite multiple efforts over the last several YEARS they have not been moved to the correct page. How can I disentangle the two festivals so that the GCFF films and awards are moved to the correct page and the GCIFF films and awards can be added where they belong?

Hi GCIFF-

You are welcome to submit the respective corrections/deletions for the awards that are incorrect on both through the online Update form on each event page.

You can also then add the ones that belong on each through the submission forms.

For further detailed information, I encourage you to review our following Help Guide

Cheers!

I've already submitted the corrections, both in 2020 when this mistake was first discovered and again this year when we realized it hadn't been corrected, but rather had gotten worse. There are entire awards and categories that belong to GCFF but are listed under GCIFF. Until those are moved or eliminated, it won't help to add GCIFF films as they are getting lost in the shuffle. And my repeated attempts to have the incorrect awards/films removed or moved to their correct festival have not worked.

@GCIFF Thank you!

As mentioned, you can submit these corrections, deletions and additions and provide an explanation with the enough supporting evidence (links to the official event pages). This way our staff will be able to review them accordingly.

As I said, I've already tried submitting corrections on multiple occasions with zero results. I've even provided the link to the correct festival in the hopes that those listings could be moved from GCIFF to GCFF. If that's not possible, then my only option would be to request those listings be deleted from GCIFF and leave GCFF to enter all of their awards information again under the correct page. I was trying to avoid passing this headache from our festival to theirs and was hoping someone on your end could help straighten it out instead. If you're telling me that isn't possible, then I will request the incorrect listings be deleted and GCFF will be forced to re-enter all the information on their page. (If anyone from GCFF is reading this, you have my sincere apologies.)
