Solved

Two Problems in Need of Resolving

  1. I recently tried to change a title type from video to regular film and, each time, it came back with this error (note that I had typed an explanation each time):

My explanation was "This film was released only on online streaming services, not on video."

I am having this same problem ("We could not save your explanation") when trying to make any other edits that require explanations.

2. Please approve #260806-030439-340000 and #260813-223434-854000.  The former was rejected only because it included high-profile companies (high-profile companies which are indeed the producer and distributor of this Discovery Channel film).  The latter was rejected for no reason; Nigel Glynn-Davies is indeed listed as the film's dubbing mixer in the credits of the film: https://archive.org/details/the_dying_rooms/The+Dying+Rooms+E02.mkv

Hi @Madotsuki_the_Dreamer2,

Online videos can be (and mostly they are) added as “Made for Video” when they are direct-to-video release. The type (V) stands for “Made for Video”, please do not try to change it for online videos if they are not series. See the official guidelines:

https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/submitting-a-web-series-or-online-video/G4VEJJHEW2Y5745W#

https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/discover-watch/some-films-have-v-or-vg-after-the-title-what-does-that-mean/GZZJ5SX425FL9ZPS#

The movies that you name "regular film" (without any type indicated, as I understand your remarks) are movies released in theaters first, and maybe released later in other ways.

Concerning the second point. The provided URL links to a media gallery (folder), it can be loaded differently (depending on devices and software) as a video player or as a catalogue with about 100 files. If you wanted to give the direct link, here it is:

https://archive.org/download/the_dying_rooms/The%20Dying%20Rooms%20E02.mkv

But I encourage you to provide screenshot(s) of questionable credits, which can be additionally supplied with direct link to the video source and the timings.

Hi @Madotsuki_the_Dreamer2,

Please could you re-submit the declined data in both #260806-030439-340000 and #260813-223434-854000, and then add the new submission references to this thread. I can then monitor them through processing to ensure they're approved.

Cheers!
