Unclear on what needs fixing in Large Cast request

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1972354/ This is a US Civil War Documentary miniseries from 2011 called "FIELDS OF VALOR: THE CIVIL WAR" that aired on cable TV (in 3D, as part of a 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War). I made a large cast update submission request, and I seem to see conflicting info from the Contribution History, whether I click on the Reference or Case number itself, versus what I see when I click the "blue capsule" Track History for updates.

I need clarification regarding status, so I know what next steps to take. Basically there are 22 actors currently listed on IMDb for this miniseries.  In actuality, 7 of those Actors in the Cast in IMDb were uncredited, which I updated via "Attribute," and several actors that ARE in the CREDITS do not appear in IMDb (9). When I viewed the series on DVD, in 4 episodes, I saw 5 panes of Cast Credits at the end of every episode, which I screenshotted and submitted to IMDb via an IMGUR "slideshow."

There were 4 episodes of the miniseries and there is no attempt by the filmmakers nor me to itemize a Civil War battlefield cast into per-Episode data. All the cast is listed as SERIES-WIDE, and the sequence of actors was the exact same after every episode. I see comments by IMDb on my submissions. As a note for myself, I think in the future, I am better served to submit large changes like this in parts, so I can clearly get a ruling and move forward per section. I think for this military regiment case, with a lot of battlefield action it is not quite realistic for IMDb contributors to itemize the cast per episode. As I point out, even the filmmakers themselves did not do this. They provided a static cast list at the end of every episode, even if certain cast members did not appear in every episode.

I submitted the "uncredited" updates as discussed (7), I added 9 of the credited actors who did not appear in IMDb at all. Lastly, I submitted several Cast Order corrections, moving the uncredited cast below the credited cast, and adjusting numbers as needed, to match the onscreen credits (which again, I provided screenshots of, four times). What am I missing in my approach here? Any light that can be shed will be tremendously appreciated. CREDIT IMAGERY that I provided with my submission: https://imgur.com/a/fields-of-valor-cast-credits-wnihZZU

I know that a large update will take time to be processed, but I also am not clear if because a snag or two with my request, if the entire thing is being scuttled. Either way, I just need to understand so I can take next steps. If it's just a matter of waiting, I'm happy to wait, as long as I know some portion of the request is still under consideration or processing.

Total cast should be 31, with the 24 credits persons and the 7 other uncredited actors added. Thank you.

Hi msmooreski1-

In order for us to further review, can you also provide the 18-digit submission reference number for this contribution(s)?

Cheers!

How silly of me. I'm sure I copied this and forgot to paste it to my query 260604-115447-905000

@msmooreski1 - Thank you! Taking a look, I can see that the credits additions were rejected because episodic credits must be submitted to the respective episode(s) the person appeared on/worked on as per our guidelines 'How do I add episodic credits?.'

As per the corrections, the supporting evidence provided link is no longer available.

Since this title was released as 4-part mini-series, the new/missing credits will need to be added and corrected to the respective episodes.

Ah I didn't realize that because none of the existing actors on the title are associated with episodes. Duly noted.

Also the mini-series aired credits at the end of each of the 4 episodes, and those credits did not vary day to day. PER MY SCREENSHOTS. It was a static listing of ALL the credited actors. So now IMDb is requiring that I as Contributor, go thru episode per episode and keep track, face by face, in a battlefield miniseries.

If it helps, since the same credits appear on all episodes, I believe you are allowed to add all the credits to all the episodes. You could probably do that fairly easily by resubmitting your original submission (via update history) and using the episode field to select all episodes for each credit (or copy-pasting the episode field data from one credit to the rest).

If possible, the "credit only" attribute can then be added to specific episode credits for cast members who do not appear in the episode.

I hear you, Peter. Thank you for your outreach. It did occur to me at some point. Sounds simple enough, but a bit of unnecessary hoop-jumping if you ask me. 24 Total Actors at the Miniseries Title Level = 24 Total Actors per episode x ALL 4 episodes (Cancel out the duplicates). Yep, you get 24 Total Actors. Whatever. Live and learn on the old IMDb ride.
