Why am I not able to post a user review for Ice Cream Man, having seen it in a UK Odeon ‘Scream Unseen’ showing this evening?

You have accepted contribution# for the Parents’ Guide and Goofs, both of which require a person to see the film first, so why nor reviews?

Silvio: Just wait a few hours and the film should be open for reviews. The first official release date is August 5, 2026 as indicated at https://www.imdb.com/title/tt36893729/releaseinfo/ and films are normally open for review on their first release date.

I understand that the "Scream Unseen" showing wouldn't count as a release date because the film was not promoted to the public under its own title.

I understand that, but I am a regular at Scream Unseen and have always assumed that the reason they exist is to get a buzz circulating before the official release date.

Of the other two items I mentioned, neither the Parental Guide nor Goofs is of any real benefit in promoting cinema attendance. This still feels like an opportunity missed.

The point here is that the ability to add ratings and reviews is tied to the listed release date. It's not something manually done by staff at some point. If you wanted to add a review earlier you would have needed to submit an earlier release date first.
