What happened to "The Animatrix" (the component shorts)?

In 2003, a set of animated shorts was created set in the world of The Matrix. As explained at https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna3078970, one was originally released in theaters, four were originally released online, and those, plus four more, were released together on VHS and DVD as The Animatrix. Last year, "The Animatrix" was incorrectly listed by IMDb as a TV series. In the discussion at https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/the-animatrix-is-not-a-tv-series/66632cff6c1eac1cf2617952 I was able to convince the staff that listing it as a TV series was incorrect, as it should be listed as a direct-to-video production, and the individual "episodes" should be converted to short films as each of them made up one of the nine films on the video release. Fran from the IMDb staff responded: "I can confirm that this issue has now been resolved. As well, I have changed the title type of "The Animatrix" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328832/ into video. Here is the link to each standalone short: 1. The Animatrix: Final Flight of the Osiris https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0350934/ 2. The Animatrix: The Second Renaissance Part I https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366179/ 3. The Animatrix: The Second Renaissance Part II https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368575/ 4. The Animatrix: Kid's Story https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368574/ 5. The Animatrix: Program https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366178/ 6. The Animatrix: World Record https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368576/ 7. The Animatrix: Beyond https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0372764/ 8. The Animatrix: A Detective Story https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0366177/ 9. The Animatrix: Matriculated https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0372765/ Cheers!" However, it now appears that all nine of the shorts that make up "The Animatrix" have now been *merged* into the title page for the production as a whole. That is, there is no separate page anymore for "Final Flight of the Osiris" or any of the other shorts listed above. All of them redirect to https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328832/ instead. Could the staff please break out the nine shorts that make up "The Animatrix" back to their separate pages? They should be connected by Movie Connections indicating that they are all featured in "The Animatrix" -- but not have their separate pages eliminated.

It's supposed to be a single title. It's ALWAYS been considered an anthology film and not a series of short films.

Tsarstepan: I accept that as being one perspective, but based on sources like https://www.nbcnews.com/id/wbna3078970 and https://screenrant.com/every-animatrix-short-ranked/ I think the perspective that it is a collection of short films is also valid. Obviously, the IMDb staff will have to choose one perspective or the other, but I want to make sure that they are making a conscious decision about this. After all, "The Animatrix" was once listed by IMDb as a TV series, and I hope we can agree that it isn't a TV series.

There is a problem about merging this animated shorts. Before each segment had it's own page and main title "The Animatrix" had a page too. Now there is a "The Animatrix" page but that is probably the old page of "The Animatrix: Matriculated" segment. You guys probably changed the name of the "Matriculated" segment to "The Animatrix" and removed the original "The Animatrix" page. My original rating for "The Animatrix" was 9 but now it is 6, and this was my rating for "Matriculated". Are your rating for this film same as before? Also FAQ page is all about "Matriculated" segment: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0328832/faq/

Hi gromit82 - Thanks for reporting. And thanks also Tsarstepan and hinayamazaki for weighing in. I filed a ticket with our data team to investigate (P317263938), once I have an update on the status I will post the details here.
