When a short film is also a series episode

What do I do in this instance… A short film was made in 1991, it went to film festivals in 1992. In 1995 it became episode 5 of a tv series that was created around it, exactly the same short film. The short film is listed here already. I am adding the series as new. When I get to Ep5, do I add it new as a TV episode, even though it’s already here? If not, how do I make sure the TV series has a full episode listing? I’m confused.

madeup: This situation is called a "shell" episode. See https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/episode-guidelines/GDF7HR6CCCBKU3CP# where this is discussed: "If a title is later re-released as an episode of a series, then it should be added as a shell episode. This means the episode can be added to a series, but no filmography credits relating to the original title should be added to the shell to avoid crediting the work twice on the name pages of those involved. If the individual contributed to new material relating solely to that episode e.g. hosting segment then they are valid credits and may be added to the shell episode). Please also add a trivia item and a "features" movie connection linking the episode to the original title page."
