Solved

When someone reports a review to be removed, what do you actually check?

I've posted a number of reviews, but I now have to keep tabs opened for External Reviews for a number of these, because when I check them a few days later, they're gone! I've posted valid reviews, so if someone is reporting them, whoever is removing them is NOT checking the actual website to see that it is a valid review! So, what do you actually check?

Hi IAmSpartacus9999- In order for our staff to review, can you give us some recent examples, you can post your 18-digit submission reference numbers associated with these External Reviews that you have posted and found them later removed? Cheers!

Not at this time, as I don't want anything else unfairly removed. I'd just like an answer to the question, please.

Well, the reviews were accepted under the guidelines, and I had to resubmit them under the guidelines, but they were removed some days after. Hence my question, since I believe someone is trolling and trying to remove my reviews, and it's as if your staff are not actually checking the review is a valid review. Hence, if someone tries to remove a review, do you actually go to the page to check it's a review?

Here's a suggestion. How about when you remove a review, you send a notification to the person whose review you're removing, with a reason? I get nothing, as things stand. You're removing valid reviews, so you're not actually checking anything.

@IAmSpartacus9999- We appreciate your feedback. As mentioned previously, in order for our staff to address the issue we will need examples to investigate. Again, if you are willing to share the 18-digit submission reference numbers associated with your most recent External Reviews that have been removed our staff can investigate further. Otherwise, without that specific information, we won't be able to assist.

Well, what I will say is that this page is an example of one of them. In fact, not just mine but other reviews are also being removed, even though all of them are valid reviews. I'm sure you can find out the answer by investigating the changes in this page, please. I look forward to your response. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26471411/externalreviews/

@IAmSpartacus9999- Thank you for posting the link! We have reviewed them and as per our guidelines, reviews only discussing that episode in specific belong on the episode title pages themselves. This also goes for when a review is addressing the finished series as a whole, where these reviews belong specifically on the series page. Reviews of the trailers are not eligible. For further detailed information on External Reviews, you are welcome to review our following Help Guide: https://help.imdb.com/article/contribution/titles/links-to-external-sites/G3FNEK9DW6TXW87J?ref_=helpms_helpart_inline# Cheers!

Ah, I need to update some reviews now I've seen the whole series, so I'll get that done. I don't review trailers, though.

Quick question: Whenever a title is removed, or there's an issue of some sort, why don't you email (or set up a simple message system) the contributor to let them know? As such, I'm not informed when a title is removed, and if it was ages ago, I'm not going to know about it. That would be good customer service.

@IAmSpartacus9999- Thank you for the feedback! I encourage you to post this as an Idea thread so we can gather votes/comments from other community members and track interest within it. Cheers!

You should know that the IMDB staff are very biased against certain viewpoints. They are very generous at removing stuff they don't like and refuse to remove those items that are clearly violating their policies. There is no notification for either action. When I check to see if anything has been done, I see this message, "Your contribution has been declined. We did not capture a specific reason during processing." Even though it was clearly explained.
