Whoever keeps submitting false data on #260810-203736-692000 .......
Whoever keeps submitting this erroneous 'Correction' to my Factual mistake:
" Correction: Older aircraft can be upgraded to use modern, digital aviation systems like GPS, digital altimeters, and other computer controlled features. In fact, many of these upgrades are required to meet current FAA safety and navigation requirements."
I'd like to ask that person to please stop. The PA-31 is a 40+ year old airplane, it has NO ability to be automated in any context with respect to its power section of controls. It is a pure old school aircraft with Power, Prop Condition and Fuel levers. No amount of Avionic Upgrades can fix or automate this process for a PA-31 Piper.
One would have to gut the entire plane, install dozens of mechanical servos and electrics in order to do this, adding an incredible amount of weight and complexity to an airframe that simply cannot accommodate these types of modifications, without severely reducing the already antiquated performance specifications of the PA-31.
Secondary - "In fact, many of these upgrades are required to meet current FAA safety and navigation requirements."
This is completely false, as there are minimal to zero requisites for older aircraft to be mandatory updated to modern avionics to retain one's airworthiness certification for an aircraft. That is 100% pilots discretion. The only mandated item, is a ADS-B Compliant Transponder that works in either Mode C or Mode S, outside of that..... NOTHING.
I am a FAA Certified Airframe and Power Plant Mechanics, with over 20 years experience, this is right up my alley of expertise, please stop submitting this false data.
