Why does IMDb ignore this great source of death dates?
In SAG/AFTRA’s quarterly magazine, there is an extensive list of actors who have died. Granted, they do not include place or cause of death, and there are generic names that run the risk of being confused, but it is a great source of information. IMDb declines such accurate information.
Is any staffer a member of SAG/AFTRA? Or, could IMDb contact SAG/AFTRA for this ongoing information?
Here is just one example of a person who was a teaching colleague of mine and whose many students would like to know this information:

Also noteworthy is the fact that once a name has been registered with SAG/AFTRA, it cannot be duplicated, at least in SAG/AFTRA sanctioned productions. That is also the case when actors want to avoid the confusion, hence, why Stewart Granger is Stewart Granger, and NOT Janes Stewart. There already was a James Stewart. And why Michael J. Fox has a J in his name since there was already an actor registered as Michael Fox.
