Why there is no protection from dumb people?

I'm so tired of this On many titles i have to spend double time, when dumb people deletes factual credits with no reason I already have enough things to do, when imdb constantly lags for months now, and then when i fully finish some titles, i need to do same things again, because dumb people deletes factual credits, because they allowed to do that It's so frustrating Why different rules applies to the titles? Why it's not same to all? On some titles you can't edit anything even with official source, on others you can do whatever you want without any reason And dumb people using it I'm fighting this for years and nobody cares WHY?! https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/250503-145112-235000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/250503-144156-530000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/250503-144306-414000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/250503-150058-833000 https://contribute.imdb.com/contribution/250503-150236-812000

I think there should be option to see who edits the title and option to contact them Maybe someone doesn't understand something and deletes something by mistake or whatever Then you could have conversation with other contributor what's wrong and everything would be way easier I always welcome when someone fixes my contributions, if it's valid, but when they delete something factual it's just frustrating At least imdbpro contributors could have this option, because that's who does the most contributions

@ungnieska: "At least imdbpro contributors could have this option, because that's who does the most contributions" Just like you, I don't have the stats about this, but I'm fairly certain this is not true. I think most contributions are from film lovers who want to keep the database up to date and correct. AFAIK, most people listed here are not in showbiz: https://contribute.imdb.com/czone/hall_of_fame

"I think most contributions are from film lovers who want to keep the database up to date and correct." Yeah and that's why they deleting factual information. lol Nah, i seen enough to know when someone don't know what they are doing or just doing because they allowed to do that. For some people is fun to attack titles to ruin it's rating, add fake stuff or delete factual information from it. I recently had few situations, when titles were attacked for political reasons or just because some people didn't like the creators of the title. I guess you never encountered toxic internet people before.

@ugnieska: The point I wanted to make is that I don't believe people with an IMDbPro account are responsible for the majority of contributions, that's all. :) I didn't mean to suggest that every non-Pro contributor is a good contributor.

Well, people who does the most contributions every year always gets free IMDBPro account. So i don't know. And top contributors every year pretty much the same. So that's why i'm suggesting to add something only to IMDBPro accounts, not for all. Because people who does harm will only abuse it for their pleasure and attack titles more. People who are attacking titles for fun, never in top contributors list. Because they attack specific titles, not every single one. There really should be difference who is real contributor and who is only having fun. Because now i spend my time create titles do contributions for it. And for whatever reason comes some whatever person and because that day he doesn't like some creator he attacks the title for his "revenge". But do they harm the creators? No, they harm me. That's what frustrates me. They obviously gets banned on creators socials, so they come to imdb. Give dumb people the internet and they will ruin everything. I woudn't care if it happened one or two times. But it's happening constantly for at least past 3 years. They found a way and they abusing it.

@ungnieska: I was thinking about people paying for IMDbPro, but you're right that when it comes to people having (and not necessarily paying for) IMDbPro, most contributions very probably come from that group. I understand being an IMDb contributor can sometimes be frustrating (I've been there, one example that comes to mind: https://community-imdb.sprinklr.com/conversations/data-issues-policy-discussions/i-dont-know-any-jokes-about-respect/600dd1eb90c13179fb16fec1), but luckily, sometimes some things actually do get fixed, so hopefully you'll keep on pointing things out here, staff will look into them and in time, things will get a bit better.
