When Speck offers Penny a place in his titanium shelter to survive the impact of the planet destroying meteor, she declines. It's a good thing she did because, as the only female in a bunker full of young adult males, it's all too painfully obvious what would ultimately happen to her overtime at the hands of these men. It would be a fact that they would all end up ultimately fighting over her, and killing off their competition in order to eventually rape her.
