Solved

Wrong person credited

Hello, A director was credited instead of me on this movie VFX crew (Jules Herrmann). But I can't seem to be able to find a profile with my name. How can I fix this? This would be my first official IMDb credit as well. The link is below. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt27613895/fullcredits/?ref_=tt_cst_sm

Jules: It appears that the credits for two different people, you and someone else, have been mistakenly been listed on the other person's page. Before we advise you on how to fix the problem, please look at all the credits on the page at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2113644/ and let us know the following: 1. Is your name also Jules Herrmann, the same as the other person's name? 2. On that page, there are credits in numerous departments/jobs -- Director, Editor, Producer, Visual Effects, Writer, Second Unit or Assistant Director, Additional Crew, Cinematographer, Script and Continuity Department, and Self. Please look at *all* the credits in *every* department and let us know which of them are yours, if any, besides the credit on GOAT (2026) in the Visual Effects department as a groom/cfx artist. (I know you said that this would be your first IMDb credit, but there is also another Visual Effects credit on that page as a groom artist for "Mystery Lane" (2023). So I wondered if that one was you, too, due to the similar job.) *** There is definitely a way to get your credit(s) moved to a separate page under your own name, but it will be easier to advise you with this additional information.

Jules: Here is how to fix the problem. Go to the page at https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2113644/ and click "Edit page". On the next screen, on the Name Split line, select "Add split". Click "Continue". On the next screen, there will be lines about moving credits in various jobs/departments, such as "Move Actress Credits to ..." and "Move Director Credits to ..." You are only concerned with the line for "Move Visual Effects Department member Credits to ...." On that line, in the left-hand drop-down box, select "Other (use box)". In the right-hand blank box, enter the following: Herrmann, Jules (II) Leave all the other jobs/departments on the page as they are, with "Don't move [Herrmann, Jules]" selected. Don't check any boxes for "Update existing credits with 'as'". They don't apply to your situation. There will be an Explanation box at the bottom of the page. In that box, enter something like this: "I am Jules Herrmann, a visual effects artist. My credits have been added by mistake to the page of another person with the same name. All the Visual Effects Department credits on this page are mine, but none of the credits in other departments are mine. I am requesting to have the Visual Effects credits on this page split off to a separate page with a different roman numeral after the name." (The point of this explanation is to show that you are not making a mistake and what you are requesting is really what you want.) Click "Check these updates". On the next screen, you will get a warning that says, "The name 'Herrmann, Jules (II)' is not currently in the database. Did you mean one of these? ..." Select the option below that says "This is a different person not currently listed - create 'Herrmann, Jules (II)'." Click "Re-check these updates". On the next screen, your data should appear with a green background, and you should be able to click "Submit these updates". Allow a few days for the split to be processed. Good luck!
