'You People' (2023) - Elliott Gould's character Mr. Greenbaum?

Question

Very bizarre that Elliott Gould is listed almost everywhere on the internet as the role of Ezra's father, while David Duchovny took this character called Arnold. Elliott Gould, on the credits Mr. Greenbaum, is only seen for a few seconds in the movie (sort of cameo), and it is also nowhere made clear what relationship he has to the family of Ezra Cohen. Or did I overlook something?
