A horror European TV show about a village girl studying medicine at a university or smth

here is the information i have

- it is not english but the actors and actresses are white

- the time period is like in the 19s or the 18s

- it is horror or thriller

- the protagonist female is a village girl who learns about medicine at a university

- there was a scene with hot stone therapy

- there was a disease they were trying to cure (TB or something, i dont know)

I remember this one scene where the guy tells the protagonist girl about fireworks but she doesn't believe fire can go into the sky because she has never seen it. (it was romantic i think)
PS this all probably happened in episode 1 and ive lost track of it ever since.
