Do you possibly recall this '90 series?

I'd be really grateful for any hint that helps to find a series/mini series that I suppose was on on late 80s or early 90s, probably made by Disney but sore. I think it was about teenagers in general, only particular scene I can remember is when a guy started his job, one day he came earlier to dissolve some kind of computer problem, when his colleague/supervisor saw him and asked what's doing he clarified how the problem should be resolved. Then he was told to leave the desk, later his supervisor announced that he was able to dissolve the problem himself. The guy in question when to someone else to say the whole story but was told that he's not rated as a trustful person by his supervisor and I think he got fired. Not much i can recall, I think there was a Vinny or similar named guy also... Would be great to recall that after many year so I'd appreciate any help, thanks!
