HBO Rome Gladiator

I've been watching the HBO series Rome.  In Series 1 The Spoils Titus Pullo ends his fight in the arena with a gladiator with a spiked club and then later Lucius Vorenus looks like he then kills him and takes Pullo out of the arena.  However, in the next episode Kalends of February it looks like the spiked club gladiator is in the audiance of a play wearing a grey blanket.  Can anyone confirm the actor who played the last large gladiator, so I can find out if he is credited for both episodes, proving he was not killed?
