Help identifing an 80's horror movie
I thought of the cat scene from an 80's (maybe early 90's) horror film and can't remember the name of it.
A girl and her family are down and out and have to move to a dilapidated old mansion-like house just left to them by their grandfather. A gang of punk rockers had laid claim to this house and are mad at being kicked out. One of the punk guys starts stalking the girl and nails her cat to the front door with a knife. Somehow I think he's possessed or gets possessed by the spirit of dead grandfather who hung himself, and hangs himself in the end (I think). I really have no idea what the plot to this movie was, just remember the cat hung on the door and this is keeping me up at night, because I swear it was a simple 2 word title, and I prided myself on my knowledge of horror movieage once upon a time.

I don't remember the cat bit, but the plot is pretty close to what you are describing with the punk rockers and the house.

You are correct Sir! Did a little touch and go fast forwarding through this. Ketchup oozing stuffed cat on the door is a check... I recall the grandfather/uncle/whatever he was in this movie was very 1920's Vincent Pricey. ... This movie is so 80's bad, which also makes it good. I wonder what made me suddenly think of that cat scene? One of life's mysteries can be put to rest, as another one opens. Appreciate the use of your brain, friend.
