Help me Find a movie thats driving me nuts

It was a movie based on a female student and a male teacher. The girl sees her old high school teacher getting a reward on TV for best teacher, as she is staying at her parents' house with her dad and mom and older brother. She works at a fast food restaurant. She has flashbacks of the teacher and her, where she falls for him and has a secret affair. In present she tells her family, and they sue the school and teacher, in between the flashbacks telling the affair. In end she looses the case but gets closure and stands outside the school to protest against sexual abuse.
