High school show around 1980

I'm trying to remember a one season high school tv show that came out around 1980 about a loner who returns to school after a mysterious disappearance and is shunned quite a bit by students and faculty. In one episode someone breaks a student's rear window, and the loner gets blamed eventually and a fight ensues. The loner student gets suspended but later resolves the situation by repairing the window. He later admits he was picking lettuce somewhere when he was away.

@keyword_expert I know these movies are not it, but this reminds me of "Miracles of the Heart" with Casey Siemaczko, and an After School Special TV movie with Christopher Collett (First Born and The Manhattan Project) and Dana Hill (European Vacation). Christopher Collett plays a high school student and pianist whose younger sister returns home from the mental institution she was committed to. I think she had severe autism, but she was called "Jelly Bean" by her brother.

@jeorj_euler Which show is it? Because not long ago I had to do a writing assignment for college, by the way, I got it from this source https://paperell.net/research-papers-for-sale and it was about an American school show. For me this was interesting, I have to find that writing, possibly at the basis of it is this show.
