I need to find this horror movie

I'm looking for the title of a horror film from the '80s or '90s. It starts with a van arriving at a gas station at night. The van is driven by teenagers, the gas station attendant fills it up, but then damages their car and stuffs a cloth soaked in gasoline into the exhaust pipe. The van crashes and explodes. The film continues with a group of teenagers seeking shelter from the rain one night. They manage to get over a fence and find themselves in a field. They hide in a barn. A farmer, whose face is not visible, gradually starts killing them. He shoots one African American girl in the leg with a shotgun as she moves from one place to another, and then runs her over with a tractor while she is still alive.

I think the movie you are looking for is The Burning (1981). It is a slasher film directed by Tony Maylam and starring Jason Alexander, Holly Hunter, and Robert Englund. The film tells the story of a group of teenagers who are stalked and killed by a mysterious figure while on a camping trip. The scene you described is from the beginning of the film. A group of teenagers are driving to a summer camp when they stop at a gas station. The gas station attendant, Cropsy (Robert Englund), is a disfigured man who was burned in a fire at the camp several years earlier. Cropsy is angry at the teenagers for laughing at him, and he sabotages their van, causing it to crash and explode.

I have been trying to figure this one out for years too and I think I finally found the answer. I remembered seeing the VHS box at Blockbuster as a kid with the guy with the scissors in the eye and have no clue why my dad ever let me rent it haha. The movie is Hollow Gate and it’s just awful, but should be what you’re looking for!
