I'm looking for a film from the 40's or 50's

Hi. I'm looking for a film from the 40's or 50's where a woman in a cassock wearing a large white mask approached a man playing a church type organ. This was watched by another man on a balcony. It seemed to be in an old church or similar. This scared me at the time (I saw it about 1965?), but I must see it all now. please help.
