Looking for a 1980s teen comedy title

In the summer of 1986 I saw a comedy on HBO one night that had my brother and I laughing until our father came home and we had to shut it off. I think of this movie now and then for years and have never been able to find it. In the 15-20 minutes that we saw the movie had the following scenes: - Some teens are in a car being pursued by some enemies of theirs. The driver pops a copy of "Ride of the Valkyries" into the tape deck and plays it as another teen mans a water balloon launcher that pelts the car riding behind them. - Two of the teens go to a pornographic movie theater and sneak in squirt guns loaded with milk. They start making sounds as if they're excited and squirt the milk onto other movie goers, one of whom turns out to be a teacher of theirs. - There is a montage scene in which one teen is seen dating a girl. I distinctly remember he takes her miniature golfing and swings his putter around in imitation of Charlie Chaplin twirling his cane. - Another scene began with a girl in the middle of two guys in muscle shirts as they did curls with barbells. They appeared to be the "heavies" in the film. Then our father came home and we had to turn off the TV. Years ago I posted on the web and people suggested "Screwballs", or even "Screwballs II", but it was neither one of them. Any help is appreciated.

It sounds familiar, but I can't quite place it. Will keep looking. Here's a bump for your question at least.

Funny. I have the exact memory watching this movie with my brother too. I always remembered they shoot an African American patron and he says, "Watch yourself, guy!" Did you ever find out the name?

I did find it! I just forgot I posted this until I got an alert that two people replied to it. I was doing family tree research 2-3 years ago and got a free 30 day subscription to some newspaper archive service. I decided to take advantage and look for this movie too, since I would think of it like once or twice every year. I could also narrow down when I saw that movie to a few weeks' period in July of 1986 because I remember my mother was in the hospital at the time (hence my brother and I could stay up late), so I searched the TV listings in my old local newspaper and found it. The movie is named "Lovelines" from 1984 with Mary Beth Evans, Greg Bradford and Michael Winslow (a.k.a. the guys who does sound effects from The Police Academy movies). At the time I found it the full movie was available on YT. It has a LOT of music and video montage sequences I never saw in the small section I watched as the film centers around a Battle of the Bands competition at a high school. It was tough to get through at times, but the non-music sequences were much original and funnier than what you'd find in other teen comedies of that era.

I'm not 100% sure, but it might be one of these four movies that you're looking for: - Zapped! (1982) - Porky's (1981) and its sequels - Revenge of the Nerds (1984) - The Last American Virgin (1982)

Hi, thanks for replying. I actually found the movie maybe two years after I posted here. It's named "Lovelines" from 1984.

Thank you so much. Like an itch that was impossible to scratch. Well, I am sure it will be terrible to watch, but at least now I can go on with my life. Much appreciated!

You're welcome! There are plenty of scenes from the movie on YT and a bunch of fans who are crazy about the soundtrack, which is amusing or maybe just concerning. It seems my brother and I happened across the best 15 minutes of the movie and our father came home at the right time to signal that it should be turned off.
