Hi everyone, I’ve been trying to remember the title of an American comedy movie, most likely from the 1980s or early 1990s (definitely before 1995). Here’s what I remember: The main character is a young guy, possibly a teenager or someone just out of high school. The story takes place in a city, in a relatively modern setting (for the time). In one scene (which is shown later in the film but happened earlier), the protagonist is driving a car (maybe with someone else), and something interferes with a compass or similar device, causing them to get lost. The movie starts with the main character waking up (maybe on the street or roadside) and almost getting hit by a car. The film is grounded in reality — no supernatural or sci-fi elements. The tone is light — it’s a comedy, possibly with some adventure or mistaken identity, but definitely not fantasy.
