Looking for title of alien/space film

I’m looking for the title of a movie where the daughter of a late astronaut goes to space to finish his mission. In the past in the film, the father had deliberately crashed his ship into earths atmosphere killing himself and everyone thought he was insane. She goes up years later on her own mission, encounters the same danger that he had. Before returning to earth, she becomes impregnated by an alien, who forces her to return to earth allowing him and his species to colonize. I can’t remember the title. Any help is appreciated!
