Man wakes from coma to all female society

Hey all, looking for a movie I saw about 20 years ago where a man wakes from a coma/suspended animation to an all female, post apocalyptic society. They view men as dangerous but have chosen to wake him to give men another go. There is a scene where he helps his new village steal electricity to make work easier. The kicker at the end of the movie is that as they put him back to sleep he realises that the old woman who leads the village was his girlfriend when he went to sleep. I think the film was in English. Thanks for any help!
