Movie title.

Hi, I'm looking for the title of a movie which had the iconic final scene of the main character, a state trooper motorcyclist, sitting dead in the middle of the road with his legs stretched out before him, having been shot through the open window of a VW camper by a couple of hippies he had previously stopped. The scene is shot from behind him with the VW going away down the road. Thanks.
