Name of 70s or early 80s dead-serious drama movie where couples retreat to a possible group therapy (NOT the comedy "Couples Retreat")?

I remember seeing a movie (possibly released between the 70s or early 80s) about several American couples that retreated to a big house and they started to bond and talk about their point of views on love and childhood traumas.

There were two lesbian women that were conversing about love, where one said that love was all in the mind and that there'd be no suffering if she loved that other woman from her mind.

There was another woman who was revealing her childhood trauma and crying intensely (almost yelling) and saying that she didn't want to have kids because she would treat them the same way her parents treated her.

It was a thought provoking movie but I didn't see it from beginning to end, does anyone the name of this movie? (It's an American movie) Thanks very much.

There was another scene I can remember where two women were talking about loving someone from their mind and not their heart, one was explaining to the other (in a seductive way) about loving someone from the mind and not getting hurt.

Note: It's not the comedy with Vince Vaughan and Jon Favreau.
