Name that late 80s early 90s movie

Movie I watched in early 90s. American  Family(mum, dad, boy and girl) go and live in an underground facility as part of a scientific experiment. They are being watched at all times. Half way through they are gassed/poisoned and a scene shows their bodies being carried from the facility by men in hazmat suits. Father survives I think.
