Need help figuring out name of HORROR movie or series from childhood. (1990s 2000s)

Every few years I randomly remember this one scene from something I saw on TV but, I don't recall if it was a movie or if it was something like Tales from the Crypt. I was born in 1991 for reference.

I vividly remember this scene the main male character was driving down a road, he was like a dirty blonde if I remember right, and while he was driving randomly this black teenage boy showed up in the passenger seat holding a bird nest. When he kept asking the boy questions the boy refused to answer and looked very sad. When he finally did open his mouth only dirt poured out. The main character looked away and then looked back and the boy in the dirt was gone as if he was never there. It was later revealed in a book somehow that the boy with the bird nest was actually buried alive I can't remember exactly why but that's why he couldn't speak.
