What is the movie?

To all the movie buffs here...

I cannot for the life of me recall a movie I watched a few years ago.  I don't remember very much of it but got it somehow mixed up with Jarhead 2: Field of Fire (2014). 

All I can seem to remember definitively is that it is a war movie set either in Afghanistan or Iraq, but most likely the middle east, where a bunch of soldiers/seals/SAS fight against insurgents (not sure if it's Taliban) and save villagers housed up in one big room towards the end; also vaguely recall that they put up a guy on a water tank/tower to shoot the incoming bad guys in preparation of their defense.

There is also this scene that I recall, where the bad guys kill innocent people in a mass shooting in what looks like a desert some where before the final gun fight.

Other plot details do not come to my mind neither the actors nor the director but the movie I believe is a recent one between 2005 - 2019.

Having unsuccessfully tried to find this title by looking on sites such as whatismymovie.com etc, posting it here.

I would very much appreciate if somebody could suggest the title or any pointers in finding this.
