World War 2 movie sabotage scene

I remember a scene from a WWII movie when I was a kid where some Allied soldiers are sabotaging a road that they expect the Germans to travel on. One of the guys is kind of a prankster and sticks a rubber snake (or something like that) in a tree by the explosives. Anyone have an idea of what movie that is from? I can’t remember for the life of me.
