Overall, I love the IMDb app; I use it almost every day. But if I'm watching a show & look something up, & then I set my phone down, many times the app will return me to the home page when I try to look something up again, even just a few minutes later. It's obviously just a minor annoyance, but if I'm watching an hour-long show & look up an actor I want to know more about, & then later in the same show someone else I want to look up makes an appearance, it starts to get frustrating. If I'm only looking at the app during commercials (usually the case), so I set my phone down every time the show comes back on, sometimes I might have to restart my search 6 times in an hour! I realize my recent searches pop up, but if I search for a show ("Seinfeld," for example), then find S5, Ep1, then go to the cast list, I don't really want to go through all those steps again when I want to look someone else up 10 minutes later. Maybe it could just reset every day or every few hours or something. I don't know, but it's really detracting from my enjoyment of the otherwise great app.

Yes I have the same annoyance. I use the app almost daily as well. I waste much time trying to find where I was the previous time the app was active. It's a major flaw in my opinion.

Lately I’ve been using my browsing history in the app, & that has really made it a lot better. When you’re in the app, just tap the menu icon in the upper right corner (a square with 3 horizontal lines) & then tap the history icon (kinda looks like a clock with a circular arrow around it, 2nd from the left). It should show a list of your recently-visited pages. From there you can easily get to the page you last visited. Hope this helps.

Hi! Why is it that if I search for a movie in the IMDd iPhone app, then stay on that movie page without quitting the app, if I return to the app 10-15 minutes later, i'm back at the IMDb main page instead of where I left? I'm always running the latest version of the app and it has been doing that for at least 1 year. Thanks!

Couldn’t agree more Randy. Also I think this should be classed as a Problem (rather than an Idea) based on how annoying it is!

If I look up a movie and go to the movie page to find out some info then close the app and reopen it more then about 15 min later it always returns me to the homepage. So I have to search again and find the movie I was just on. Please, please just leave the app in the state I left it when I closed it. NEVER just take me back to the homepage.

I'll often look up actors info multiple times while watching a movie but these lookups could be an hour apart. It is extremely frustrating to have to search again and again.

Can the app be updated so it doesn’t reset nearly every time I open it? I feel like if I’m on a page and go more than 2 minutes without reopening it, it resets to the home page. Then I have to go through all the search to narrow down the show/movie/topic I was looking at.
