iPhone X no longer supported

Suddenly after latest update to iOS 16.7.12 On iPhone X, my “device is no longer supported” - with no warning ! Not cool. One of my favourite apps too. Disappointed ☹️

Same for my (ancient) IPhone 8+. I literally use this app multiple times EVERY SINGLE DAY. I could NOT be more disappointed

Thank you Col_Needham for the link that opens my saved account! I can breathe again. 😂

I also have an iPhone X. I too was disappointed to have had no notice. Also, I couldn't remember my IMDB login details, so I created a new account. On logging in on my iPhone via my browser, it opened my IMDB app, with my original account still logged in! Very strange, but at least I have access to my reviews, favourites etc. I'm hoping it stays that way, or at least stays open long enough for me to grab all my info. Ps. I hadn't even updated my iOS. Thinking that may have been the problem, I updated it before creating my new account on my desktop PC. So it seems it wasn't related to the update. I hope it works for you, too! :)

Thanks for the feedback here and sorry that we are unable to support your devices in the app. The app requirements are explained in https://help.imdb.com/article/imdb/mobile-web-apps/imdb-app-general-troubleshooting/GPV9HCYQGA8XT8QZ Fortunately the IMDb site at http://www.imdb.com/ is now fully responsive, which means all pages work on any size of device, and will therefore continue to work on your phones just fine. The site actually has more functionality and content than the app these days in any case. You can even create a link to the site on your home (or other) screen which will provide a shortcut to the IMDb site just as if it was an app. Hope this helps.

Won't let me use it unless my iPhone is ios 17 or higher. Are you sure that it's gotten to that point yet? My iPhone right about now seems up to date. Am I able to obtain an older version for iOS 15.8.5? All of a sudden, my app is incompatible with my iPad. I’m missing the working app badly. Stupid devs, the app just works fine, when you open via browser! Next time do not let it install, if it is not supported by device.

Yeah, what's the point of an app if you have to open the app through a web browser... I have to do this on my iPad Air 2... I have to open a web browser (Firefox), and google "IMDb" and then click on that and VOILA... the fricken IMDb app opens up "correctly" ! Can I do this on my mainframe at work ?

@ximis89917 / @AirMojo Please see https://support.apple.com/en-gb/guide/iphone/iphea86e5236/ios for details of how to achieve the same effect as launching the site as an app.

Anyone else tried pressing and holding the app icon on your iPhone, then selecting 'Search IMDb'? Works for me.
