Watchlist sorting options do not work

Watchlist sorting options are broken, trying to search by release date and it doesn’t work. This has been an issue for over a year now, please fix.

Using iphone 13 mini, latest ios 18.2

Thank you for your message! Most IMDb app issues can be resolved by attempting these troubleshooting steps:


-Force close the app, then re-open
-Log out of your account in the IMDb app, then log back in
-Restart your device
-Remove the app from your phone and download it again

If none of that works, please provide us with the following information:


-IMDb/IMDbPro app version number:
-Screenshots/videos showing the error

I don’t know if I should start a new ticket or not, but the problem persists.

app version is 15.3

Below is a screenshot, three of these titles are quite old, going back to the 80s even but as you can see they are sorted by date added and not by release date, even though I have sorting options set to release date.

I’ve tried all of your suggested options and they don’t work.

@JarekReanimated​ It looks like you are in Canada? We can only sort on the data we have and for Raw Deal see https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091828/releaseinfo/

These are clearly not the first release dates in Canada and corrections will be submitted, but this explains the misordering. We will ask the data team to look at how these bad dates were approved.

@JarekReanimated​ The release date edits have now been processed; let us know if any other titles are in the wrong order due to bad Canadian release dates.

Here are a bunch more, but this is just a fraction of my watchlist which includes over 750 titles, I’m sure there are many more errors. Is there a way to change my account to American so I see proper dates, at least until the bug is fixed?

I tried changing my account to American and it didn’t do anything. As it stands, a quick scroll through my watchlist and there is a massive amount of titles that are incorrect. I guess I’ll just have to deal with it.

@JarekReanimated​ Can you upload a screen-grab of “You > Settings > Display” when set to the US and confirm you have restarted the app with these settings? It is the “Region” setting which is important here, as in:

Also, please upload a screen-grab of any titles which are still in the wrong order with US settings.
