2 LIVE POLLS: Favorite Female Friendship Movies (Ready)

@Pencho15​ Thanks, all of these are excellent suggestions. I overlooked Inside Out 2 (2024), but the other three were on my radar. I am unsure about the Wicked (2024) and Wicked 2 (2025), as there are parts of both movies their are friends, as well as, adversaries. I dropped the movie, Mean Girls (2004) to make room. I have a loose unofficial vote threshold of 25K for 21st century, and 5K for 20th century titles. Initially, I had Book Club and Calender Girls in the pool, but cut them for other more voted titles (more well-seen & more popular). I am including them again based on your feedback and their strong female friendship plot themes.

Thanks, all of these are excellent suggestions. I have a loose unofficial vote threshold of 5K for 20th century titles. I added Gentlemen Prefer Blondes and 3 Women to the 20th century answer pool. I already had made an exception and Tender Comrade was already listed @ #33 in the answer pool. I am opting for other already listed titles over the other four suggested titles,  the How to Marry a Millionaire and The Trouble With Angels tiles that were on my radar and the The Doughgirls and Thunder on the Hill titles that were not on my radar.

Thanks, both answer pools are full now. I still open to suggestions, but the titles will need to have a strong female friendship theme to displace one of the already listed titles.

• First, just because a movie isn't in the poll, doesn't mean it doesn't belong. It just means that there are far more viable options than answer slots to list them.
• Second, I tried to balance a number of factors into those that made the cut and those that didn't. I did specifically ask for suggestions, "I am looking to add notable female friendship movie options from the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s to the answer pool"' and got only a few suggestions, some of which were incorporated into the pool.

Regardless, I did consider both of those titles, Mullholland Dr. barely missed the cut, but I decided against including the title since the characters just met. Persona was not included mostly because of the plot and lack of tagged keywords which indicated that it wasn't percieved as a female friendship movie primarily. These are the keywords I used to search for titles.

I am not claiming this is the definitive list of "female friendship", but do feel a concerted effort was made to include older and more worldly titles, but I didn't find an over abundance of well-seen international, golden age, or new hollywood titles that were tagged with one of these three keyword tags.

For the most part, I am happy with the result and feel it is on par or more comprehensive than most of Galentine's Day movie watch lists I have seen in articles about female friendship. To your point, Mullholland Dr. was listed on the some of the dozen or so lists I viewed, but Persona was not listed. I also tried to balance the lists, so it has something for everyone, whether you like superhero films or are more a fan of critical darlings.

Bottomline: there were movies I wanted to list and felt belonged, but I was constrained by the 35 answer choice limit. In the end, more female friendship films were below the cut line, than above the cut line, and a lot didn't even make the honorable mention list, as there were too many to list them all. Probably, the best proof of that fact is I listed 70 female friendship options between the two polls and I am getting complaints about movies that were left out.

@amirshossein1989​ I am not sure it is the best, but what she did to sacrifice herself for her best friend what touching and dramatic.
