I was thinking of birthday polls for Elizabeth Taylor and Chloe Grace Moretz. They both have inactive polls.

I think you can make those.

True. But, I have hardly seen old polls expiring.

I think Tsar may have been referring to polls being closed by the Staff, which is not necessarily the same as inactive polls. There were over 800 polls based on character lists which became inactive after IMDb discontinued character lists in 2017.

Could you explain why staff close a poll and what it means when a poll is closed? Thank you in advance.

Some recent polls from after the poll redesign were closed by error, but IMDb intend to reopen them.

I think it is an error. Many different polls were closed after a month. As Tsarstepan argues above, it might make sense to close polls such as this one where the winner has already been announced.

About two month ago I also had the problem, that polls which have run good were closed instantly after a month. They are not opened again. I'm sad about that. Can't they re-open these polls which were accidentaly closed? I hope the problem does not exist anymore. How about re-pushing them? Might that solve the problem?

The IMDb staff is supposed to be looking into it as it was an error, but we don't know when will it be solved definitively.
