Investigating Possible Hacking of the IMDb Poll

KiKiWu98 - He's clearly not listed as an admin or an IMDb Editor. And yet he has three polls published in a single day - none with the perquisite discussion threads. https://www.imdb.com/user/ur169309748/ It looks like it circumvented any of the usual poll publishing protocols.

The user does have the IMDb staff badge if you click through to the old profile with badges. https://www.imdb.com/user/ur169309748/legacy/

Hi Tsarstepan - I can confirm that the polls and the account (thanks Peter_pbn for highlighting) does in fact belong to an IMDb staff member. We appreciate you flagging!

Hi, Michelle. I think you should agree that this happenenig would feel strange to the regular users, isn't it? There was no preliminary discussion, the question were no questions, but orders to vote and there is no backlink in the polls, as usual. The staff members user-name seems to be chinese. And there was no congratulations-posting of the admins. It would be nice, if we were warned in advance. Now we know. But it must have been considerated, that such a happening would cause speculations. I was also baffeled and instantly contacted KirkPikcard and TsarStepan in the forum, because they were online then.

Why is the default assumption it's a man ? Since you don't know the gender of the person it'll be helpful if you used they/them pronouns instead

Because it seemed fishy and if it was hacked, there are more male then female hackers. How many them there are, I don't know.

Ironic isn't it? Why would you assume the worst for my post? "he pronoun objective: themobjective: himnominative: hepossessive: their or theirspossessive: hisplural nominative: they the male person or animal being discussed or last mentioned; that male. anyone (without reference to gender); that person: He who hesitates is lost." Source: Dictionary[dot]com "—used in a generic sense or when the gender of the person is unspecified he that hath ears to hear, let him hear —Matthew 11:15 (King James Version) one should do the best he can" Merriam Webster (And other English dictionaries you can look it up in as well)

Why should it be the worst? Is being male such a shame to be called the worst? I think there is much toxic manhood in the world, but I also think the picture about is often overdrawn. There are very much good men on earth - I'd say most of them. Masculinity shouldn't be treated as disease, that's not fair. And the masculinum was hardened in speech over centuries, which I take as "grown". With feminism there are attempts to change it rapidly. Sometimes it runs that fast that formulations, which are tied to both fenders in Germany turn wrong easily. I use the word Arbeiter (worker) as example. When fast spoken it turns to a female word. Example: Arbeiter *innen. Arbeiter is the male form. Arbeiterinnen is the female form. (in that case both used as plural) It's used to say Arbeiter innen with a space in it to adress it to both genders. But fast spoken it just hears like Arbeiterinnen. So I would be addressed as Arbeiterin, when spoken to all the staff. When fast spoken I'd turn to female. That is ok? I don't care! There is too much ado about. We got other problems in the world, really! Women's rights are good and useful and should be forced. Women are half of humankind. It's good to make no difference in Job (also payment) and in private. But please don't harm that with speech police arguments.

So, it was not hacking? The 3 KiKiWu polls are still live.

By the way ... did anyone see these polls in last time? Must have been about a week ago. A japanese poll, a Korean poll and a chinese poll. Looks like they are blown away!
