@Dan_Dassow, It was not so easy collecting posters with nubers. The toughest was the number 4. If you find better images, I'm open for it. If you see a better concept in the same idea, I'm also open about.

Good point, I definitely agree on using the year. But popular, high-rated films may lead them to vote for their favorite instead of answering the question. I noticed that happened in my poll today.

That makes sense, regarding that very less people are reading the intro and understanding the issue. I'll take the time example you have in your poll today. If there is a better, I'll use that. But at the moment it looke like the best option.

I guess the first poll I voted in must have been 10 years ago (as of September 2025). I wasn't voting from the beginning and about two years later my own first poll was published. I can't tell you how proud I was. If you guess, ... when was the first time you voted in a poll?

@Breumaster Nicely done. May I suggest you put each year (2013, 2014, etc.) in BOLD for clarity. Incidentally, I think I started voted in or about 2016.

Wasn't there a problem making it bold, Italic, or colored with the new design? I can do it, the question is, if it really shows an effect.

Text colors are not available (in lists and polls) but bold and italic are.

Thank you, Rubyfruit. I've made the edits. Until it's criticized, I'd let the "Hi there." stand. I think it's a little like the new style of many influencers on youtube. It's sympathic, somehow and I think people feel more addressed, when greeting them. On the other hand, it looks lesser like Journalism. We could try, if it's responding in user's perception. If not, please someone tell me and I'm cutting it.

I very much agree with what you said, that "people feel more addressed." That sums up the effect nicely. And I also agree that it looks less like journalism but for this particular poll, I think that's fine. I guess we'll see what others think. : )

Seems like there is a hard core of guys who continued to vote. Sadly there are not many newbies.

When was the change of the design? The joiners are at rock bottom in 2020 and 2022. I see the counts went down earlier, but ... maybe we can derive the causes, somehow?

I'm surprised we did not have newcomers in 2020 / 1 Covid Era. A lot of people were stuck at home bored, bingeing TV and films and surfing the internet. People spend more time on various social media platforms I guess. I've always loved reading various websites and blogs, and participating in forums devoted to specific interests, like this one. These days even text-based interactions happen on a few large platforms, like Reddit and Quora.

And yes Breu, the new design was in Beta in late 2019, and was rolled out in early 2020. Good catch.
