Mario, I've put the rollerball image on the list. Can you give me a little description of the situation, please? You see I have a little description to all the situations to help the users remember. I know that 'Rollerball' was a movie which was restricted for violence in Germany. There even was a C64 game existing after the movie. And I know it was cult. But I would need a moment, because I don't know anymore if I've already seen that movie, much less the content. I just remember it was a movie about a sadistic game in a roller arena.

The primary goal is to get the heavy steel ball into the opposing team's goal. Once released from a cannon-like launcher, players fight to gain control of it and score points. Because the ball is solid steel and moves at high speed, it’s also extremely dangerous. Players can use it as a weapon to injure or even kill opponents — which aligns with the sport’s brutal nature.

Thank you for suggesting. Can you please explain a little, why the sphere in 'Men in Black' (1997) is funny or iconic? I don't remember the scene. I've altered your text a little and have put it into the steel-ball-option. The rolling boulder of Indy was already suggested by AlbertoMazarro. You can see it in the discussion below.

The spherical object at the end of the film Men in Black isn't a planet, but rather a small marble that contains the entire Milky Way galaxy. This tiny, contained universe is shown being used as a plaything by an enormous alien, who is just a fraction of the size of the larger galaxy it's shown playing with.

Ah ja, I remember! It really used the galaxy as a ball! It's on the list. That suggestion really was a surperise to me.

May a stone ball count? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0082971/mediaviewer/rm1296602114/?ref_=ttmi_mi_48_2

That's on the edge, borderline. Definition: "A ball, in the general definition, is a round, usually spherical object used for play, sports, or technical purposes. Its characteristics are: Form: largely spherical (or ellipsoidal, depending on the sport). Purpose: movement through rolling, throwing, hitting, or kicking. Material: traditionally leather, rubber, or plastic; the main point is that it is elastic or suitable for its intended use. A stone sphere is also geometrically a ball (a sphere). In everyday language, however, it is not referred to as a ‘ball,’ since it is not intended for play or sports, but rather as a sphere or stone sphere." I let it count, because the spherical boulder looks perfect round like a ball. [Satire mode on]: The balls of Oliver Kahn are closer to that definition, but ok. [Satire mode off] ;)

Very good! With that ball you have the heart of blackbolt-3, too. I have put the epic snowball fight on the list. Wasn't it that Donald fought with his nephews? It's times ago, but I slightly remember. Donald made a way to big ball which ended in a snowslide, wasn't it? It's long ago I saw it.

Perhaps the rolling bomb in Fast X https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5433140/mediaviewer/rm3213698561/

Peter, as you said. It is a bomb, not a ball. There are balls in that thread which are not really balls for playing, like e.g. Indy's ball or Olli Kahn's balls. But here is even explosive content in it. So even by being mild in my verdict, that is no ball - it's predominantly a bomb.

Thank you for pointing out. I've put the second "t" where it belongs. I've also added "The Big Bang Theory" in the Episode 'The Einstein Approximation' (2011) (2011), because the Episode was first time on air in 2011. I've handled that like in the other cases. At least I hope that's correct.

Jessica, if you put in the title like that: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1588684/ ... doesn't it say February 15, 2011? I f yes, then it takes German release date. How can I see the American release date? I guess the other episodes will be also wrong then. I'll do it another way, I take the date of the series and add season and episode number.

This is such a good poll and very funny. What a great idea! I adore Wilson the volleyball so he'll probably get my vote. : ) If you haven't tired of my English-instructor pickiness, here are some suggested edits: #1: I suppose it is the most well known volley ball in the entire world. ("it is" instead of "to be") #2: Dictator Adolf Hitler by depicting (no comma after "Hitler") #10: Oliver Kahn, the former captain of a major German soccer team, was once asked... ('Moved "once" and added a comma after "team") #14: The movie 'Rollerball' (1975) was a cult classic... (added "a " and "classic") #16: The alien unequivocally used the galaxy as a ball! Gosh! (added "ly" to make "unequivocally" an adverb) #20: Helmut Rahn scored the deciding goal in the 84th minute in the final against Hungary. Germany won the World Championship and gathered new hope after WWII years. (removed two instances of "has" to correct the tense the sentences are in)

Thank you, Ruby. That's great help. I also still see learning-potential in training my English skills. Sometimes it depends on my condition. When I'm tired, I tend to make more errors. It still costs much concentration to do right, remember, sort the words, check the spelling, adding vocabulary by translation websites, ... , but here on the board is a good ring to train it. I Got some good sparring-partners here. ;) If I'm too tired, I grind it through chatgpt. That always works, even though I try to relinquish chatgpt most times.

Your English language skills are quite good and they've improved greatly since you first started making polls. I admire and envy your proficiency: I don't have a second language in which I'm at all proficient. I've always had a hard time with languages other than English. I took a couple of years of Russian in college and that was the language I did best in but I needed a tutor for the second year and by now I've lost almost everything because after college I never had anywhere to practice. I was abysmal with Mandarin when I lived in China and I did not do well in high school French classes. I've enjoyed learning Spanish when I've lived in cities in which I could use it but I've lost most of the little I knew. The long laundry list is just me in awe of your English skills. : ) Oh, by the way, chatgpt is not always reliable. Language is AI's weak spot. While it's very good with some things, it has a difficult time with the nuance involved in such things as idioms, syntax, and precision. It's gotten much better but is still not great. Your skills are much better, however I do know that it can be helpful with some aspects.

Errr ... Quote Jessica: "Great intro, Breu. And I couldn't find any typos. :)" Quote rubifruit76: "Wow, Breu, that intro is so beautifully written. A wonderful poll for a wonderful actor. ..." Quote dan_dassow: "Nicely written. You were a good writer in English when you first started creating polls and you continue to improve. If I didn't know that your native language is German, I would believe that you were a native speaker of English." That doesn't sound like chatgpt would fail. I didn't mention to have improven my text with chatgpt and that were 3 conclusions. Only Peter smelled it. I think it's a worthy tool, not only to be lazy and let it do the work one should do, but also to learn alongside using, to do better oneself. This post was completely made without chatgpt. I just wondered about Dan's words. My English was totally awful when I came here. ;) Now look, it's eight years later. If one trains the skills from time to time, they automatically improve. It's just the start which s**ks. If you want to learn a language, it's necessary to often spend time with it, practically. Forums like that are surely a good playground for that issue. I had the fortune that English is all around all over the world, so it clearly is the most easy language to learn on earth. I'd have more problems to learn Spain for sure. English words are all around in Germany. Youth partly invents new words of English words (Anglizismen), which shows how present they are in our country.

Fun poll! I’d choose the one that feels the most unpredictable just like a real-time predictor where you never know what’s coming next. Excited to see everyone’s picks! Check it here: https://snowdaypredictortool.com/
