Live Poll: BBC's Greatest Foreign-Language Films

For one thing, recent films are less likely to make it into the critics' list. The BBC Top 100 has 13 films from 2000 and later; the IMDb Top 100 has 32.

I get the whole flavor of day thing, I initially thought this list would be weighted toward older titles, but it is pretty evenly distributed by decade. Certainly, more so than the IMDb Top 250. Still, given their Metacritic scores and reputations, I would have liked to see those two make it over some others. But, overall I agree with EIM most of the titles you would expect are on the list.
