Live Poll: Captivating Slow and Quiet Cinema

Intro: Some movies don't need many action scenes, fast pacing, shockingly loud tones. No matter if it is a drama, a comedy or any other genre, these movies have one in common. These movies take the audience by the hand and lead them through their stories. All of them have at least some of these attributes: Exciting camera work, well set music, a bonding story and cut. There is mostly no loud noise in them in a wide range of time. Which of these slow paced, quiet movies captivates you the most or if you didn't see any of these, which seems to be the most interesting to you? Please tell us here. Suggestion: It's told in the intro. List: https://www.imdb.com/de/list/ls599507024/ List Part II: https://www.imdb.com/de/list/ls599666008/ Poll: https://www.imdb.com/de/poll/bcSWycjPNtI/ Poll part II: TBD

Why not? I changed the title, Dan. It's short and to the point. :D

@Breumaster, Thank you for updating the title. Your updated question is much better. By the way, @riverotter suggested Barry Lyndon. I believe this Kubrick film fits your poll.

"They have a good continuity by their makings" What do you mean by this?

For me it is, when the movie takes the audience by the hand and leads them through the story. I guess I'd better write it like that.

Yay for slow and quiet movies! And bravo to you for this poll. : ) FYC: Maudie (2016) (When I saw the title of this poll, I immediately thought of this.) American Fiction (2023) (Oscar winner and Best picture nominee) My Dinner with Andre (1981) Portrait of a Lady on Fire (2019) Never Rarely Sometimes Always (2020) And I think the following, although I haven't seen it in a while: Secrets & Lies (1996) (five Oscar nominations, incl Best Picture)

Thank you, Ruby. Now the list is stuffed. But maybe, if you got another 30-35, we could do a second part? ;D

I've installed a second list. So if you want, feel free to suggest. I suppose you to be in best knowledge of those movies, as you have proven in past. :D
